Resort Rules

A. GENERAL VISITATION RULES

  1. Rule Number One is to enjoy your self thoroughly at the Resort. Please feel free to make any suggestions that may help to make this a better Resort. A suggestion box will be located at the clubhouse.
  2. All cars, recreational vehicles and other vehicles must display a windshield decal or temporary visitor permit when on the Resort premises. In the event an additional decal is needed for another vehicle owned by a person in the Seasonal's immediate family, it may be obtained from the office for a fee. Resort vehicle decals are to be used only on personal vehicles registered to the Seasonal or his or her immediate family.
  3. The recreational facilities will be kept open and used in accordance with a schedule determined by Management.
  4. All facilities are used by Seasonals at their own risk.
  5. Under no circumstances will minors (under 19 years - BC law) be served, be allowed to assist in serving or be permitted to consume liquor in or on any part of the Resort.
  6. The Manager and their servants and agents will not be responsible for any personal injury to any Seasonal or other person, or for any loss or damage to any property of the Seasonal or other person.
  7. All equipment must be obtained from the Manager by lodging Membership card or other acceptable means of identification, which will be returned when the equipment is returned in good condition. Some rental equipment may require a deposit, which will be refunded on return of the equipment in an undamaged condition.
  8. All garbage and other waste material must be placed in the receptacles provided by the Resort.
  9. Taking shortcuts across, or through, R.V. sites is not permitted. Enjoy the beauty of the R.V. sites but respect the privacy of others and the work done on their sites.
  10. No Seasonal or other person is permitted to sell goods or services within the Resort without the permission of Management.
  11. R.V.’s must be equipped for recreational living and sleeping purposes without requiring continuous connection to sewer, water, and electrical systems. R.V.’s without holding tanks are not permissible. All RV's must have sewer connectors which seal tightly. Only non-toxic chemicals may be used in the R.V. units being dumped into the sewage system.
  12. No tents, tent-trailers, pop- up trailers, pup-tents or tent-like enclosures are permitted on a Seasonal site with the exception of a small tent for children to be used on a specific visit. In the event that the visit will extend past 3 consecutive nights please see the office for an application.
    Not more than six persons may overnight on one site unless prior permission has been obtained from the Resort Management.
  13. Nothing shall be posted on any Resort Bulletin Board or elsewhere within the Resort without first obtaining permission from the Management. No sign (e.g. "For Sale' signs) may be displayed on any site or on any recreational vehicle or other vehicle other than names and site numbers without prior approval from Management.
  14. All Resort guests, visitors and others shall register at the Registration Office upon arrival. Seasonals are to have their site decal displayed at all times so they are exempt from this registration process.
  15. Seasonals and all other persons shall conduct themselves with decorum while upon the premises of the Resort and shall not indulge in loud or boisterous conduct. Games or sports that may bring the Resort into disrepute or interrupt the harmony of the community shall not be allowed. No Seasonal or guest of a Seasonal shall harass, intimidate, badger or in any other way interfere with any other Seasonal or their guests in a manner that would detract from the normal quiet enjoyment to which all occupants of the Resort are entitled.
  16. Seasonals and others shall at all times be responsible for the conduct of their children and guests on the Resort premises. In order to prevent over-taxing of Resort facilities in the future, if day guest activity should reach inordinate levels, the Management reserves the right to limit the number of daytime guests visiting per site. Young children must be accompanied by an adult when using the Resort facilities. Special care and attention is to be given to children when using the spa pool and land adjacent to the mountain. After 10 p.m., children under the age of 14 must be at their own site, a guest of another site, or supervised by an adult if using resort facilities.
  17. Seasonals shall be responsible for the conduct of and any charges incurred by their families, guests and other persons they permit to use the Resort or the Seasonal's site. They shall be responsible for the full value of any loss or damage to property or equipment willfully or otherwise defaced, injured, damaged or destroyed by their families, guests or other persons the Seasonal permits to use the Resort or the Seasonal's site.
  18. Pleasure riding of motorcycles, scooters or all-terrain vehicles is not permitted within the Resort. The use of motorcycles and scooters as transportation between the entrance to the Resort and the Seasonal's site is permitted. No bicycle riding after dusk is permitted without bicycle lights.
  19. The gathering or cutting of wood or other vegetation within the Resort is prohibited.
  20. Open fires are allowed only in designated fireplaces at the Recreation Center when Harrison Village bylaws permit. Management may prohibit the building of fires at any time when such fires are considered either unsuitable for the existing conditions or when they represent a fire hazard. Open fires are not allowed on individual sites except for propane campfires. Only charcoal briquettes or propane may be used to barbecue at the individual sites.
  21. The use and possession of firearms and all other weapons is prohibited within the Resort.
  22. The speed limit on the Resort roads is 10 km/hr. unless otherwise posted. Valid driver's licenses are required to operate any motorized vehicles on the Resort property. No major repairs or adjustments shall be made to motor vehicles on the Resort premises.
  23. No more than one R.V. is allowed per site. In addition to the R.V. no more than two other vehicles are permitted on any site. Other vehicles or guest vehicles will be required to use the designated guest parking, and under no circumstances shall park on roadways or grassed areas.
  24. Quiet hours shall be observed from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Exceptions will be made to the 8:00 a.m. quiet time if it is necessary for a guest to leave the resort earlier for travel commitments. Resort management can authorize an extension of the 11:00 P.M. quiet hour for Seasonal social events normally held on a Saturday night. Any noise generating equipment such as televisions, radios, tape or CD players or generators shall be restricted in their use and time of operation for the mutual comfort and pleasure of Seasonals.
  25. No outside clothes drying or clotheslines are permitted within the Resort area, except the unobtrusive drying of bathing suits and towels.
  26. Seasonals may have normal family pets, such as dogs, cats and birds, however, there must not be more than 2 pets per site. Dogs or other pets in excess of 20 pounds in weight are not permitted without express permission of Resort management and shall be subject to a 3-month trial period. Dog breeds that are known for aggression are discouraged but will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All pets (including cats) must be kept on leashes or in-doors at all times (including night) and must not be permitted on any site landscaping or RV site other than that occupied by the owner of the pet, without the consent of the occupier of that site. No pets are permitted in clubhouse, pool or recreation areas with the exception of mountainside. All pet waste must be picked up immediately by the pet owner and deposited in a garbage receptacle. This applies to all areas of the Resort, whether developed or not. The Resort Management reserves the right to require Seasonals, guests and others to remove unruly, loud and/or misbehaving animals from the Resort and to restrict roaming pets.
  27. Complaints from Seasonals can be brought to the attention of the Resort Management, which will authorize any appropriate action.

B. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

  1. 1. Clubhouse and facilities:
    (a) The Resort facilities are available for all Seasonal group activities from April 15 to October 15 weather permitting.
    (b) The clubhouse and other Resort facilities are available for use by all Seasonals and their overnight guests, to a maximum of four guests per Seasonal site.
    (c) The clubhouse and other Resort facilities may not be used for functions which exclude any member of the Seasonals.
    (d) Persons who are not overnight guests of Seasonals or a registered guest of the Resort may not attend any Seasonal events without written management permission.
    (e) Some Seasonal events may be available to overnight guests of Seasonals for a fee to be decided by the Social Committee.
    (f) Reservation of the clubhouse will be available for Seasonal events only. Any suggestions for Seasonal events should be submitted to the Social Committee to determine availability of facilities and aid in publishing of a calendar of events.
    (g) The common cooking facilities may be used for special Seasonal events only. Seasonals may not use the cooking, refrigeration or dishwashing facilities for personal use.
  2. Use of facilities and equipment will be on a first come first served basis except where reservations have been approved by the Social Committee or the Management of the Resort.
  3. Play at any facility will be limited to forty-five (45) minute periods when others are waiting to use the facility. At the expiration of that time the players are required to relinquish the facility.
    4. Profanity, loud, and abusive language and other objectionable acts are prohibited.
    5. All Resort buildings are smoke-free.
    6. Food, drinks and cigarettes are prohibited within six (6) feet of any pools.
    7. No glass in or around pool areas. No toys or floats allowed in the pool area.
    8. No lifeguard on duty - swim at your own risk.
    9. Rules for the use of the pool area will be posted and must be adhered to.
    10. No wet garments in the clubhouse.
    11. No skateboards, roller blades or bicycles are permitted in or around the clubhouse or in the pool areas.

C. USE/RENTAL BY NON-SEASONALS

  1. Seasonals may permit others to use their sites with the prior approval of the Resort Manager. This permission is allowed to allow use of the Resort by family and persons known to the Seasonal. Use of site to persons of unknown character is not allowed.
  2. Seasonals shall be responsible for all damages and charges incurred by their guests.

D. RESERVATION SYSTEM

  1. Seasonals must notify the Resort of each intended guest occupancy of the Seasonal's site when the Seasonal will not be present. Such notification shall be accomplished prior to the arrival of the Seasonal's guest at the Resort.
  2. Day guests of Seasonals shall not use the facilities of the Resort unless accompanied by the Seasonal. Guests of Seasonals who have prior approval of the Resort Manager to occupy the Seasonal's site(C1) should carry their registration pass when using facilities.
  3. All overnight guests must fill out the registration form provided by the Resort at the Office. Day visitors shall obtain a registration form marked "Visitor" and include the name of the Seasonal they are visiting. Day visitors of Seasonals should wear appropriate Resort identification while visiting the Resort.

E. ELECTRICITY ON RV SITES

  1. The cost of electricity on RV sites is included in the seasonal fee, with the exception of electrical power used for heating. Heating by electrical power requires specific permission. Management based on estimated cost of power used will determine appropriate additional usage fee.

F. GUIDELINES FOR LANDSCAPING AND USE OF RV SITES

  1. In order to avoid misunderstandings and to preserve Resort appearance, no construction, alterations or improvements to any site, including, but not limited to landscaping, decks, railings, trellises, storage sheds or modifications to existing structures may be carried out without the written approval of Resort Management. An application for such work must be obtained from the Resort office and when submitted for approval must be accompanied by plans of the intended work or construction. A copy of the approved application should be retained by the Seasonal as proof of compliance.
  2. Each seasonal is responsible for the landscaping and upkeep of his/her own site. In the event the sites landscaping is not kept to an appropriate standard the Management, following notification in writing, will arrange for basic upkeep at the Seasonal’s expense,
  3. R.V. sites should be left in a clean and tidy condition at all times. Awnings are to be retracted rather than lowered if the Seasonal is to be away for more than 2 weeks. Tarpaulins shall not be used to cover R.V.’s except as approved by Management for winter storage.
  4. Any R.V. coverings may not exceed 2 feet above the roof of the RV. Any RV coverings or deck coverings must meet the specifications of the resort. A sample of the allowable coverings and specifications will be available April 15, 2008.
  5. Boats, recreational vehicles, boat trailers or utility trailers are not to be parked or stored on a seasonal site.
  6. Management at sole discretion, reserves the right to rule on the suitability of any R.V. entering the Resort. All R.V.’s must be CSA or equivalent approved. General rule is that R.V.’s will not be over 15 years old. However, an owner of an R.V. in good condition but over 15 years old can apply annually to Management for an exception.
  7. R.V.’s must have up-to-date insurance coverage for Comprehensive Loss and Liability. Owners are responsible for obtaining and maintaining, insurance coverage at his/her sole expense.
  8. When placing an R.V. on a site the R.V. may be raised off the ground only to the extent that the weight is off the tires.
  9. Decks may be built to a maximum allowable height of 32” from ground level and railings above the level of the deck are permissible to a further max. height of 42”. Decks may be built to wrap around or extend beyond the end of the R.V., but under no circumstances may decks be permanently enclosed. Carports may not be constructed on the RV sites. Blinds for wind/rain shelter can be installed provided they could be removed/rolled easily. Blinds are not to be left in a down position on a permanent basis and management will provide a sample of an acceptable blind.
  10. Open trellises and fences of natural materials are permissible to a maximum height of 5 ft. plus 1 foot of lattice for an overall height of 6 ft. With the exception of the first 5 feet from the shoulder of the road, only a trimmed hedge to a maximum of 3 feet is allowed. The road shoulders must be maintained. No fences, posts, rocks, etc. will be permitted on the road shoulder. Please be considerate of your neighbours when planning your landscaping and fencing.
  11. Low storage boxes on rollers may be stored under the R.V. but no storage of loose materials will be permitted unless R.V. skirting is installed to completely block items from view.
  12. One storage shed shall be allowed on each site. Where possible, sheds should be placed at the back of the site. Any other location is to be approved by management on a site-by-site basis. Maximum size of shed is 6’ x 8’ or 50 sq. ft. in total. No metal sheds will be permitted.
  13. No freezers or refrigerators are to be located outside the R.V. unit, with the exception of a bar refrigerator in good condition.
